Candle safety information

Before lighting...

  • Before burning, always trim your wick to 1/4 inch. Long or crooked wicks can cause an irregular sized flame and inconsistent burning. To trim wick use a wick trimmer, nail clippers or scissors.

  • Keep your wax pool clear from wick trimmings and debris.

Whilst burning...

  • Always keep your candle in sight when burning.

  • Keep candles out of reach of both children and pets.

  • Never use a candle as a night light or while you may fall asleep.

  • Keep the area around your burning candle free from clutter and flammable items. Your candle should always be at least 3 inched away from any objects whilst burning.

  • Do not move or touch the candle whilst the wax is liquefied or during burning.

  • If the candle flame flickers, smokes or is too high, extinguish the candle straight away. This is because the wick hasn't been trimmed. Let the candle cool, trick the wick to 1/4 inch and clean any unwanted debris in the wax pool before relighting.

  • Do not burn candle all the way down. As a safety margin, discontinue burning the candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains.

When extinguishing...

  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle.

  • Make sure that the candle is completely out and the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room.

  • Do not touch or move the candle until it has completely cooled.
